Demetrios Farmakopoulos

MSPT, OCS

ProActive Physical Therapy’s founder, Demetrios Farmakopoulos, received his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College. He is also a Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist, certified by the American Physical Therapy Association. Demetrios has practiced extensively with a number of master clinicians and with the area’s top orthopaedic and neurosurgeons. He has been in private practice for almost 20 years, making him uniquely qualified to handle a spectrum of orthopaedic and neurological needs. “I’ve been involved in competitive sports including basketball, rugby, footballl triathlons, and mountain biking, and focus my sports rehab on improving on-field functioning. I believe that hands-on manual therapy supports a trued connection with the patient and the best possible care.” As well as being in private practice, Demetrios is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, and Rotary International.

Tunde Guttengeber

MSPT

Tunde graduated from Mercy College with a B.S. in Health Science in 2001 and with a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 2004. She is experienced primarily in outpatient orthopedics treating surgical and non-surgical conditions. She has also worked in long-term, sub-acute and inpatient rehabilitation settings for 10 years.
Her interests include treatment of various injuries including shoulder problems, joint replacements, sports and work injuries, as well as chronic pain and the promotion of overall health and wellness. She has completed many continuing education courses such as Kinesio Taping, shoulder rehab, spine rehab, yoga and Pilates.
In her free time she likes to read, work out, and she enjoys cooking and baking as a form of relaxation.

Rana Lowenthal

DPT

Rana Lowenthal received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Columbia University. She has worked in a diverse array of settings including inpatient rehabilitation, sub acute rehabilitation, acute care and hospital based outpatient prior to joining the team at Proactive PTSR. Rana is currently involved in post graduate coursework in order to pursue her interest in pelvic floor physical therapy, with particular emphasis in pregnancy and postpartum. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, long chats with friends, and spending time with her husband and two young children.

Kaelyn Ragonese

DPT

Kaelyn Ragonese received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Franklin Pierce University and Bachelors in Exercise Science from Hofstra University. She holds certifications in LSVT Big and the Graston Technique. Kaelyn believes in blending manual therapy with an evidence-based approach to exercise in order to yield the best results. She is passionate about educating her patients on their condition and different lifestyle adjustments in order to promote independence on their journey towards an optimal level of function. In her free time, she enjoys playing intramural sports, spending time with her friends and family, and traveling to new places.

Matthew Maraia

DPT

A native of Thornwood, NY, Matt is a 2013 graduate of Iona Prep in New Rochelle, NY, where he played football for the Gaels. Matt graduated from Boston College in 2017 with a major in biology and a minor in history and also was a member of the Boston College Rugby Club. Matt received his DPT from Stony Brook University in 2021, where he learned various contemporary therapeutic treatments. Matt is a passionate PT who believes that exercise is the key to a happy and healthy life.
